Spanikopita = σπανακόπιτα
Greece and the U.S. share many similarities:
1. There are military soldiers in way-too-hot uniforms (how do they survive?!) guarding a tomb of an unknown soldier.
2. White guys are immortalized in statues around the city center.
3. IKEA is here!
So my mom and I feel very at home.
Things that are different:
A. Everything is in kilometers, so on the treadmill I feel as though I am running very fast.
B. "History" is measured in thousands of years, not hundreds of years.
C. Banks close at 3pm!
D. The airport offers free samples of alcohol.
